I love to blog about travel almost as much as I love planning trips, booking town cars, five-star hotels and side trips. Traveling the world is illuminating, enriching and rewarding. Plan a great holiday now, reap the rewards in the future.
1. New York
The east coast gateway to the United States is a must-see for travellers. This cosmopolitan metropolis shines beside the Hudson River, welcoming visitors from around the world.
Before wheels up:
Passes: Order your choice of travel passes to your front door to enjoy front of line privileges and big discounts on site seeing tours by bus and boat.
Why not plan a trip on the water past the iconic Statue of Liberty, a gift to America from the people of France. When you are in this moment you will realise why it’s something that’s not to be missed. White Star Line boat trips form part and parcel of some New York travel passes. Excitement plus.
Five star: Book ahead of time to secure your preferred five-star accommodation. Late check-outs may be available for those people booked on long haul international flights, might be worth asking your travel agent.
Wheels down: With a little planning you can book your five-star hotel’s town car to collect you from the airport. Enjoy a comfortable chauffeur driven trip uptown and take in the sights before relaxing into your digs.
That’s entertainment: More often than not, there are half-price tickets to Broadway shows available however we recommend shelling out a bit extra for better seats at matinees. When the time and tides are right you never know which stars of stage and screen you might catch a glimpse of greeting their fans on the stage door. Fun fact: Swedish super stars ABBA performed at New York’s famed Radio City Music Hall in October of 1979. ABBA’s music is still circling the globe in their recent smash hit album, Voyage, their new ground breaking virtual residency in London, ABBA, and stage spectaculars like Mamma Mia! The four sure know how to throw a great running party…
Which stars of stage and screen will you see while you are visiting one of the most amazing cities in the world?
Christmas visits to New York are rewarded with special treats including Rockefeller Plaza’s giant Christmas tree and visits with Santa at the iconic toy store, FAO Schwartz. Click here to read our full New York Travel guide.
2. Sydney
Planning a trip to Sydney makes my world top 10 list for a range of reasons and not just because it has one of the planet’s most wondrous entertainment venues in the form of the Sydney Opera House.
It’s all happening in Sydney in 2023. Visitors can keep it urban five stars, with champagne bars and new Australian cuisine on the waterfront, and tour places like Taronga Zoo and visit with koalas and kangaroos.
Why not take an adventure train ride to the Blue Mountains or enjoy the red-carpet treatment at the world-class Handa Opera – set on an outdoor stage that actually floats on Sydney Harbour.
Five-star harbour side cruising or regional food and wine trail, the possibilities await. Planning a trip overseas – my top ten of 2023. Read on if you’re game…
3. Paris
Versailles Palace calls for a visit to La Boutique des Jardins for mementos.
