Perfect grind for the perfect cup

Delonghi’s Essam 3300 stores and grinds coffee beans to exactly your preferred texture for each and every brew. This ensures maximum freshness for those who enjoy their daily coffee ritual.
If you open the plastic lid on the machine’s top left you will see the coffee bean storage. The coffee bean hopper holds about 8 ounces (about 226 grams) of beans. One of the controls for the coffee grinder is located at the top of the hopper.

There’s also a second chamber for pre-ground coffee which includes its own coffee scoop. This compartment is located top centre of the machine. You can use this coffee doser to bypass the coffee bean grinder. To make coffee using this feature add your preferred pre-ground coffee to the dosing chamber. Next, press the small silver button on the right of the control panel. Choose what size drink you wish to pour and you will soon be brewing pre-ground coffee from the bypass doser. This is a great feature for that evening decaf or a different variety of coffee.
There’s a manual cup warmer built into the top of the machine which keeps cups at a suitable temperature. A warmed coffee cup is just the ticket for people who like to take their time with a brew!

Easy to use

The Delonghi Essam300 has two boilers. One brews the coffee while the second boiler creates steam.
There’s a generous 60 ounce (1.7 litre) water tank located on the right side of the machine at the front that’s easy to remove and fill. It has its own warning light to let you know when it’s time to top up the water.
There’s a milk frother on the right-hand side of the machine and there’s a silver lever that activates it. The milk frother both heats and froths the milk or milk substitute. This ensures easy preparation of full-flavoured cappuccinos, lattes and more.
The milk frother also produces hot water.
The good advice is to ensure you clean the milk frother after each and every use and flush it with the hot water feature to remove any milk products from the tip of the frother.
The control panel is easy to understand and use. You can adjust for temperature, coffee strength and size of coffee cup.
An industry standard 15 bars of pressure renders smooth, flavour-packed shots of coffee every time.

Cleaning

The Delonghi Esam3300 is easy to keep clean.
Empty the grounds container whenever the warning light for this activates. Open the machine’s outer door on the left-hand side and it’s simple to remove the dregs box and drip tray. Coffee grounds need only be emptied after every 14 cups or about three days.

The drip tray must be emptied and cleaned whenever its red indicator becomes visible a few millimetres below the drip tray’s stainless steel cover.
Once the drip tray and dregs box are removed the coffee infuser is visible.
To clean the infuser unit switch the machine off. Remove the infuser by pressing the two visible red tabs inwards and gently lift the infuser out. The infuser unit may then be rinsed clean under the hot water tap. Be sure to rinse the infuser thoroughly at each end. It’s best not to use any detergent for this task. The infuser attaches to the coffee machine at three points. With the red tabs visible, place the machine on the two pins and attach the clip at the bottom of the infuser. Push the button in the centre to lock it securely into place. Cleaning the coffee infuser each and every week prevents clogging.

Descaling

The coffee machine must occasionally be flushed clean by a process known as descaling. This process removes any build-up of a chalky substance called limescale which forms when water is heated to make coffee. The descaling light will activate when it’s time to deep clean your coffee maker.
To descale the machine. 1. empty the water tank. 2. add one small bottle of descaling solution and one litre of water to the water tank. 3. swing the milk frother arm to the right-hand side of the machine. 4. place a 1.5 litre container under the milk frother. 5. The descaling button is located second from the right on the last row of buttons located on the left of the machine. Press to start descaling. The button illuminates during descaling. 6. Find the steam knob located on the right-hand side of the machine and turn it a half-turn, counterclockwise. 7. Wait a half hour for the descaling programme to run. During this time the descaling solution processes out of the water tank. You will know this stage is complete when the water tank light switches on. 8. Turn the steam knob a half-turn clockwise. 9. Empty the spent solution from the container and replace under the milk frother. 10. Remove the water tank again and fill with clean water. 10. Repeat steps 6 to 8, taking care to ensure you do not allow the waste water container to overflow.
The descaling is complete when the water tank light switches on again. 11. Rinse the water tank again, fill it with clean water and put it back in the coffee maker. Your coffee machine is now sparkling clean and ready to make tasty, piping hot coffee and beverages!
